Renaissance is lot more than an art, it’s a lifestyle.  

The emphasis was on the human life on the Earth, the beauty of it, the natural and the human  values. So this period was a rich one from the gastronomical point of view as well. After the Middle Ages the dishes are seasoned in a piquant way again.  

In Hungarian history during this period King Matthias ruled the country. The feasts held by the king and the lords were very rich. The cuisine of the court used many game and fish, a strong Italian influence can be felt.  

We would like to revive the atmoshpere of King Matthias’s era with the Renessaince Feast in the Nagyvillám Hunter’s Inn next to the Citadel.  

During the feast the guests are eating by their hands (we offer cutleries later if needed).  

• Hunter’s soup with crème fraiche and tarragon served in kettle with fresh loaf of bread
